Link
Exchanges
Now
that you have a web site that is well structured with excellent
content that follows all ethical rules of optimization you are
ready to set up link exchanges. This lets your customers see that
you are not afraid to show them your competition. You can even
use this area to tell your customers this fact. If you have the
best deal in town then you do not mind if your customer goes down
the street looking because best quality and service will always
bring the customer back. Most webmasters are more than willing
to exchange links with well structured sites because they know
it will help them also. You should have already created a special
section just for including your link exchanges within your navigational
structure. This page should be accessible from all pages on your
site. You can do all the work the hard old fashioned way are you
can use a company that many people are using today called LinksManager.

If
you are going to look for link exchange you should start out by
using the Google
toolbar. This is an excellent tool and sets you up
for easy listing with Google later on. Search the internet for
sites of the same are related content as yours. Once you locate
a site that exchanges links check to see what rank they have on
the tool bar. Our standard is 3 or better, but set your own and
make choices with common sense. Once you have found a site that
has a link area you may find that there links page has a lower
ranking. Some companys use a database to store the links in or
a third party company. This makes it hard for the search engines
to index the page. We recommend staying away from those that use
the third party. The best ones are those that have similar ranking
as the rest of the site on the link pages. Once you find a suitable
site you wish to exchange links with you will want to add the
link as per there instructions to your site.
Now
that you have the link added you need to contact the site owner
and tell them that there site has been added. I recommend that
since many web masters now understand ethical guidelines are necessary
for a quality internet that you include a comment stating what
guidelines you have followed in general. Tell them that you are
a new site but that you have already added there link and would
be glad to get a reciprocal link to there quality site.
The
Google Tool Bar
once installed will display below your browsers navigation and
tool bars like this.
