idea is to create the most graphically appealing site possible
without making the customer wait to see the page. Large graphics
take a long time to download from the internet. Here is an example
of what we mean from this page. These little bits and pieces of
Graphics create the illusion of a huge bar. We create these pieces
then use code to tile them across a tables background. This provides
the appealing graphic without the wait.At least 90% of the people
browsing the internet today still use connections slower than
56k. Not everyone has a pentium processor either.
If
you like the big flashy graphics we can do that also. We do recommend
them only to intranet users or a site with a small audience that
has fast computer connections.
Animations
or also great way to draw attention to special areas of your site
or just add some flare. The problem with animations is that they
tend to take even more file size than normal graphics. Normally
animations are a compilation of the graphic at different stages
of movement. Much like cartoons or made with many different pictures
to create the movement. This will increase the amount of time
it takes to download your page and can frustrate your visitors.
I highly recommend Macromedia's Flash as it incorporates special
techniques called tweening to create animation of your web site.
It basically takes code in the background to reduce the size of
an animation. You can have one graphic that moves about the page
using math in the code. i have included here some great download
sites for you whom would still like to use common easy to install
animations or big graphics yourself.
